Ft Bend County Sheriffs Department

Troy Nehls currently serves as the Fort Bend County Sheriff, a position he has held since 2013.  Prior to being elected Sheriff, Nehls served two-terms as the Fort Bend County Precinct Four Constable.  Sheriff Nehls has a Master’s Degree from the University of Houston-Downtown and also served in the U.S. military.  Troy retired as a Major from the U. S. Army Reserves where he served for over 21 years.  While in the Army, he was deployed to various locations including Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan and is the recipient of two Bronze Stars.  Troy, his wife Jill, along with Jenna, Cambry, and Tori and their dog, Archer, reside just outside of Sugar Land.
