Special Programs for the Fort Bend Country Juvenile Probation Department

Susan Bearden has been the Director of Special Programs for the Fort Bend County Juvenile Probation Department since March of 2015. 

 

She was born and raised in Houston and only left for a brief period of time to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Childhood Development from Stephen F. Austin State University. 

 

Prior to working for Fort Bend County Juvenile, she was the Program Director for CROSSROADS: Community Partnership for Youth, Inc. under the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department for 20 years. 

 

Susan oversees a team of 9 staff members that implement the many programs that the department offers to the juveniles involved within the probation office.  She also raises and manages the funds for the non-profit, Fort Bend Partnership for Youth, Inc. that operates as an auxiliary organization for the department by financially supporting a variety of programs, projects and needs for the youth. 

 

Susan currently resides in Katy and has lived in Fort Bend County since 1999.  She has a daughter in her Senior year at Texas A&M University and a son that is a Junior at Katy Taylor High.
